    I do not consent to this proposed STR ordinance. It's illegal, unlawful, and unamerican. I'm an STR owner and resident of Hilton Head. This ordinance is in violation of "We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness."

    Hello, I am a short term rental owner in Palmetto Dunes. I don't have a minimum night stay requirement, but most guests will stay two nights or more. I also don't have a required check-in day, which I believe helps with traffic. I believe that most families do not take week-long vacations any longer--most are taking longer vacations in the summer and shorter vacations in the off-season. If there is a minimum night stay requirement, many owners would suffer financially, which would affect tourism and money flowing into HHI. I believe it helps to not have a minimum night stay requirement, because guests are coming onto the island at different times, causing less traffic congestion. Guests coming in during the week also bring money to local businesses when they are less likely to have as much business. Thank you.
